Intensive ABA Intervention
The problematic behaviors resulting from autism can manifest in a variety of different ways.
Often, behavioral issues can result in shortcomings in academics, hygiene, ability to assess safety risks, self-care (e.g. eating, grooming, etc.), interaction with other children, motor skills, and independence. Through intensive ABA intervention, we aim to fill these gaps. We do this by identifying our patients’ personal high-value rewards. These rewards can come in many different forms, including play-time, and physical attention (e.g. high-fives), among other things. Our therapists then use those rewards to encourage good behaviors. This technique creates a “why” for the child to perform the desired behaviors, even though the behavior itself would not otherwise be sufficient motivation. Through intensive ABA intervention, our analysts and therapists use these techniques to build skills and elicit good behaviors that help our Clients function normally in society.
